Ancient Olympia and Modern Olympia Sites

Ancient Olympia was the site of the ancient Olympic Games. It is located at the foot of the Kronion Hill, set in a valley between two rivers and has become one of the most popular and famous sites in Greece. You should set aside at least two hours to enjoy the ruins and the museum, however, about four hours would be best. There is so much to see and imagine in the archaeological site of Ancient Olympia that brought us the original Olympic Games.

Modern Olympia is a...
beautiful mountain town surrounded by a pleasant countryside which boasts many hotels and tavernas, or taverns. There are numerous gift and souvenir shops offering a host of memorabilia and replicas of ancient Greek art. A visit to Greece would be incomplete without touring Ancient Olympia and Modern Olympia.
